ALEXANDRA FRIEDMAN T A P E S T R I E S Alexandra Friedman has had a life long enthusiasm with drawing and photography. It wasn't until an opportunity to weave in 1972 drew her attention into the possibilities in the medium of woven textiles. Starting with an apprenticeship in New York City with Michelle Lester, the first project she wove was an edition of shaped tapestries to fit the bulkhead a fleet of 474s. She exhibits internationally and wins many awards including a prestigious fellowship award from the New England Foundation for the Arts.
